You can submit an application as soon as you have been admitted to a school.
You cannot accept the apartment before school has started and you have enrolled for your studies. If you are just starting your studies and your term begins in January, you cannot accept an apartment in December. The summer months are an exception to this: if you are beginning your studies in the autumn, you can accept an apartment already in June.
Please make sure that the contact details you give on the application are correct. If your contact details are not correct, we will not be able to contact you concerning your application or your apartment offer. If you cannot send the application, please check that you have filled in all the required information (marked with an asterisk).
You can have one valid application with which you may apply all apartment types.
After submitting the application, you will receive an email acknowledgement of the arrival of the application.
If you are underaged, you need to provide a guardian’s consent form to Hoas. Guardian’s consent form is available on Online services page.
If you are applying for a transfer of right to occupancy based on pregnancy, student exchange or work experience, or military/civil service, you are required to provide necessary documents.
The submission of an application does not guarantee an apartment from Hoas.
Hoas will try to offer an apartment first to those who have waited the longest. However, Hoas’ primary criteria for offering apartments are homelessness and low income or assets, so the person who has waited the longest may not always be the first to receive an offer.
Your application is valid for three (3) months from the date of submission. The application must be updated at least every three months in order for it to not expire and be removed from our application register. If you are actively applying for an apartment, we recommend you to update your application once a month.
Updating your application
You can edit, update or cancel your Hoas student apartment application in Hoas application services. When you use the service for the first time, we ask you to registrate. See instructions
Submitting a new application does not renew your old application but the new application will replace the previous one. You cannot add a new applicant to the application nor can you remove one. If you wish to apply for an apartment with a different person or alone, submit a new application. It is not possible to change applicants once housing offer has been made.
